But the fact that you need to exercise is always there no matter how hard you try to avoid it, you are constantly reminded. If you want to get skinny and become more fit it all starts with having the proper mindset. You have to understand where you are and not be satisfied with your current look or condition. You have to know what you want to change in order for change to be possible. You also have to have a reason to motivate yourself to get started.

The first step in getting the proper mindset to start exercising is to look at your body in the mirror. Turn from side to side and really look at yourself. Who are we trying to kid here; you know what you look like. But everyday up to this point you avoid any sort of visual self evaluation like this. Ask yourself if you like what you see. Assess areas you would like to change. Don't be too hard on yourself; be sure to compliment areas of your body you do like.

Now consider how you would like to look. Would you like to get rid of those sags? Would you like to firm and tone up certain areas? Could your posture stand for improvement? Would you like to have more stamina and energy to get you through the day? Would you like to start feeling better about yourself? All of this is entirely possible.This sort of self assessment can be difficult and you need to be up to it. If you are not ready for this don't try until you are ready. But you have to know where you are in order to start. You also have to have good reason and something to motivate you to start.
